Meet Sukhmani Scott, DMD

Dr. Sukhmani Scott grew up in Augusta, GA, and graduated from the University of Georgia. She earned her DMD degree from the Dental College of Georgia, and completed a hospital based General Practice Residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. This program furthered her knowledge in advanced dental procedures, and provided a focus on treating patients with complex medical and dental needs. Dr. Scott maintains a dedication to her career by staying current with dental advancements as evident through her continuous pursuit of education. She recently completed training at American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) where she learned cosmetic and therapeutic Botox and Dermal filler procedures for our patients here at Rainwater Drake Dental Group. These procedures include treatment of TMJ issues and trigger points for myofascial pain. She seeks to provide compassionate, high-quality dental treatment for all, a principle that mirrors her family background. Dr. Scott’s parents were both born and raised in India, and instilled in her the importance of humility, respect, and hard work.

In addition to her professional achievements, dentistry runs in Dr. Scott’s family. Her sister is also a dentist, further highlighting her deep-rooted connection to the field. Dr. Scott’s personal story is as inspiring as her professional journey. She met her husband, John, a pediatric dentist, during a Special Care Dental Conference. They share two young daughters, Nora and Lyla, and a sweet Labrador dog, Gracie. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Scott finds joy in spending time with her family, exploring nature, and traveling.
